Day 01: Delhi to Shimla (330 km, 7 hrs)
Our road journey starts from Delhi and driving on National Highway 22 into the heart of the Himalayas. Driving along the low hills and eventually gaining an altitude of 6500 feet to reach Shimla is a beautiful experience in itself. Curvy roads snaking through forests of pine and deodar trees offer glimpses of small beautiful villages on the way. We reach Shimla by evening. After taking a stroll on the historic The Mall, Shimla, we call it a day at a hotel.
Day 02: Shimla To Kufri To Naldehra (50 km, 2 hrs)
This day starts with exploring the small market of Shimla town and visiting historic places like the Indian Institute of Advanced Study. Then we visit Kufri – one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Kufri is a tourist hotspot for its scenic beauty and sports activities. Then we proceed to Naldehra via Mashobra. Naldehra is home to a historic golf course amidst dense deodar forests dating back to early 1900s.
The golf course, which is one of the oldest and most scenic golf courses in India, was built by Lord Curzon – the then Viceroy of India. He liked the place so much that he named his third daughter Alexandra Naldehra. Overnight stay at a hotel/cottage.
Day 03: Naldehra To Narkanda To Kotgarh (120 km, 4 hrs)
Our day starts early in the morning as we hit the road to reach a place called Narkanda. The place is a gateway into the apple valley of Kotgarh. A connecting road branches out at Narkanda from NH22 to take us to Kotgarh. After a short visit to Tani Jubar Lake, we reach Kotgarh in the evening for an overnight stay at a cottage.
Day 04: Kotgarh local excursion
A beautiful view of the valley greets us in the morning. After lunch, we embark on a long walk in apple orchards to get connected with the mother nature. Apart from that, we visit Christ Church and ‘Sutlej View’ point before calling it a day at the cottage.
Day 05: Kotgarh to Delhi (400 km, 8 hrs)
After breakfast, we head back to Delhi via Shimla on the same road and fly home with a collection of beautiful memories.
